Hatbox Ghost to Materialize in Disney World’s Haunted Mansion “Later This Year”
Today is a big day for Haunted Mansion fans!
Not only is the new Haunted Mansion film in theaters now, but we also just got an update about a special new character coming to Disney World’s Haunted Mansion.
Hatbox Ghost Coming Soon
In case you didn’t know, the Hatbox Ghost is an iconic Haunted Mansion character that you can currently only find in Disneyland’s version of the attraction. This spooky specter wears a dapper top hat and cape while holding a hat box in which his head periodically appears.
Recently, Disney announced that the Hatbox Ghost would be coming to Magic Kingdom’s version of Haunted Mansion, although all they said was that he would be arriving “sometime in 2023.”
With the Haunted Mansion scheduled for refurbishment from August 7th through August 9th, we wondered whether that would include the addition of the Hatbox Ghost.
Now, however, Disney has announced that the Hatbox Ghost will be appearing to guests in the Haunted Mansion “later this year,” and that guests will be able to see “temporary barriers” while the Haunted Mansion is prepped for his arrival.
So, it’s not a TON of new information, but it will be exciting to apparently watch the process unfold! Stay tuned for photos and info as we ride the Haunted Mansion in the coming days.
