Don’t Be SCARED of These Messy Disney World Beignets
Disney is celebrating the release of Haunted Mansion in theaters with some spooky new treats!
So far, we’ve tried the Haunted Donut from Everglazed Donuts, a PB&J Pop in Magic Kingdom, and now it’s time for some spooky beignets.
Ghoulish Delight Beignets
We stopped by the Scat Cat’s Club at Disney’s Port Orleans — French Quarter Resort for the Ghoulish Delight Beignets, made with Mickey-shaped beignets dusted with cookies ‘n cream powdered sugar and a ghoulish marshmallow crème drizzle for $7.49.
Our order came with three different Mickey-shaped beignets, with one of them featuring more icing than the other two.
Our beignets were served warm, and they were as delicious as we expected, but we had one big problem…
They were a MESS. The mix of the icing with the powdered sugar made them stick to our hands, each other, AND the bowl.
Besides wishing we had extra napkins on hand, they were as tasty as you can expect beignets to be from Scat Cat’s Club.
The powdered sugar tasted a little like it was made with Oreos, but it didn’t have much flavor other than that. The overall taste of the beignets kind of overpowered any hint of Oreo. We aren’t complaining though!
Warm and fresh, as long as you request extra napkins and expect to wash your hands (and maybe your clothes too) when you’re done, you’ll probably love these. Don’t let the messiness scare you too much!
If you’re around Port Orleans — French Quarter anytime after 5PM, you can visit the Scat Cat’s Club Lounge to try the Playful Spirits margarita, inspired by the Haunted Mansion.
This drink is made with Patron Silver Tequila, Cointreau Liqueur, and lime juice, featuring a Fess Parker Red Blend Floater and a black salt rim for $16.
