VIDEO: Liki Tiki Statues Cool Magic Kingdom Guests
The drum beats of the Liki Tiki statues echoed through Adventureland again early this week. Today, our MickeyBloggers spotted refreshing mist and water features as well. The statues make their much anticipated return to the Magic Kingdom just in time for summer.
The mischevious Adventureland personalities had not sprayed guests since the parks reopened last year after their COVID-19-related closure. The statues spark hilarity for guests either looking for a bit of play or heat relief.
Children certainly delighted in both the suprising plumes of water that some of the Liki Tiki statues spray as well as the ultra refreshing misters that spray from the ears of others.
The Jungle Cruise continues to undergo refurbishments. The new scenes step straight out of an inventive new narrative for the classic attraction.
In the reimagined cruise, guests will meet Felix Penchman XII, a skipper and master of puns leading the expedition into the rainforests and waterfalls of the tropics.
Not only will the skippers of the attraction discuss Penchman’s antics, he also appears in new audioanimatronics placed throughout the journey. After their boat splits in half mid-expedition, Penchman and his crew find themselves stuck in some rather high places, thanks to his haphazard decisions. Construction on the ride should finish this summer.
The Adventureland crew hits the big screen later this summer with the release of “Jungle Cruise,” starring Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt. Like the attraction, Dr. Lily Houghton (Blunt) teams up with the ever-witty skipper Frank Wolf (Johnson) to journey down the Amazon River in a boat far from ready for such adventure.
