Tips and Tricks to Dining at Disney World with Picky Eaters and Little Ones
As we continue our series on visiting Walt Disney World with little ones, I’m here today to share some tips and tricks for dining at Walt Disney World with those picky eaters!
One of the best things about Walt Disney World is its robust dining options. There literally is a snack, treat, meal, drink, etc. for everyone – even with those picky eaters and little ones in tow! As a mom of two little ones who are picky eaters, these are some of my favorite ideas and places for a quick bite or nice, sit-down meal.
The Best Character Dining
It doesn’t matter who is in your travel party – little ones or not – character dining is always a must-do during your Walt Disney World vacation!
If you have some picky little eaters in your travel party, one of my top choices for a character dining experience is always Chef Mickey’s in Disney’s Contemporary Resort. Hosted by Mickey and the rest of the “Fab 5,” Chef Mickey’s provides an all-you-care-to-enjoy buffet with a wide variety of options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Looking for an amazing character breakfast featuring Lilo & Stitch in a tropical setting? Then, head over to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort for a delicious meal at ‘Ohana!
Another popular choice for a character meal with picky eaters is The Crystal Palace in the Magic Kingdom. Hosted by Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Piglet, and Eyeore, The Crystal Palace takes Guests to Hundred Acre Wood for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Over at Animal Kingdom, you can tame the hunger of the entire family with a buffet featuring a wide variety of options, even the pickiest eaters will enjoy. This one is hosted by Donald Duck and Pals.
Two other character dining experiences that little ones will definitely chow down at are Disney’s Hollywood & Vine at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Garden Grill in EPCOT.
At Disney’s Hollywood & Vine, Guests can dine with their favorite Disney Junor characters for breakfast and for lunch and dinner, Mickey and Minne and the gang are dressed up in their favorite seasonal attire.
Playful Dining Experiences
If you are looking to have a little extra fun during your Walt Disney World dining experience, you are going to want to check out these favorites that feature all kinds of options for your little ones and picky eaters!
At 50’s Prime Time in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Guests will think they have been transported back to the ’50s and grandma’s kitchen. Especially, when the servers don’t allow you to eat dessert because you didn’t eat your veggies!
Looking for some funny antics by your waitstaff? Check out Whispering Canyon in Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. Make sure to ask for the ketchup!
Looking for an old-fashioned, boot-stomping, knee-slapping dinner show? Then, the Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue is a must! In addition to all the music, dancing, and singing, the menu is perfect for little ones and includes one of my favorite things: mac and cheese!
Mouth-Watering Snacks
Now, on to every little one’s favorite meal: snack time! And, as I am sure you know, Walt Disney World never lacks when it comes to the best snacks!
Picky eaters, and every member of the family for that matter, will love DOLE Whips, Mickey Bars, and Mickey Pretzels.
If you are looking for some healthier options, look for the Mickey Check and your little one will think they are enjoying the snack choice of their favorite character!
The Dining Plan Hack
Cheers were heard all around when it was announced that dining plans would be returning to Walt Disney World starting January 9, 2024! And, did you know that other than already having your dining budget taken care of in advance, you will also save up to an average of 20% on dining when you have 3 to 9-year-olds in your travel party?
Make sure to always add the dining package to your Walt Disney World vacation package if you are looking for convenience, flexibility, and savings with your little ones!
