1. Get the Entire Family Involved in Planning
My first piece of advice is to gather the whole family around so everyone can participate in the planning.
A good idea is to let everyone, including the little ones and preschoolers, pick one or two experiences that they want to do. Then, plan your visit around those. Experiences might include attractions, a character meal or other restaurant, activities like a fireworks dessert party, and even the Walt Disney World Resort Hotel you stay at.

2. Visit Disney World During the Holidays with your Preschoolers
There’s nothing more magical than visiting Walt Disney World during the Fall or holiday season! Guests of all ages, not just preschoolers, will simply love all the extra magic in the air from the decorations to all the special events.
During the fall, Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is offered at the Magic Kingdom. And, trick-or-treating around the Magic Kingdom is just the tip of the iceberg of all the magic there is to be had! Dates for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party were just announced so now is the perfect time to start planning your fall-time visit to Walt Disney World with your preschoolers!

Once the holiday season ramps up at Walt Disney World – usually the first or second week of November – it’s time for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at the Magic Kingdom!
This separately-ticketed holiday event at the Magic Kingdom offers Guests complimentary sweet holiday treats, an event-exclusive fireworks spectacular and parade, and so much more.

PRO TIP: If you plan on attending one of these events with your little ones, don’t schedule another park day for that day. I suggest relaxing around your Resort Hotel and getting a great nap in. The parties officially kick off at 7 pm and go until midnight. However, with your ticket, you can get entry to the Magic Kingdom that day as early as 4 pm.
3. Always Plan a Visit to Disney Springs
Whatever you do when it comes to planning your Walt Disney World vacation with your preschooler or little one, make sure to plan a visit to Disney Springs!
Your little ones will love checking out the LEGO Store as well as the world’s largest Disney store, World of Disney.
And, do what I do! Have Dad take the kids over to ride the mini train or carousel why you get some little extra shopping time in at one of the countless stores including my personal favorite, Lilly Pulitzer!

While there, also make sure to check out one of the mouth-watering restaurants including Homecomin’, The Polite Pig, and so many more!
4. Stay at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel
I can’t stress enough how important it is to stay at an official Resort Hotel during your Walt Disney World vacation! While it’s always a good idea to stay at one, it’s even more vital if you have a preschooler in your travel party.

When you stay at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel, you are literally staying in the middle of all the magic. Select Resort Hotels are within walking distance from some of the Parks while other might be connected by the Monorail or Disney Skyliner.
Another bonus of staying at an “on property” Resort Hotel: Early Theme Park Entry and Extended Evening Hours!
All Guests staying at a Walt Disney World-owned Resort Hotel can choose to visit the Theme Park they are starting at that day 30 minutes earlier than other Guests. This benefit is available at all four theme parks every day.
An added benefit for Guests staying at Deluxe Resort Hotel is Extended Evening Hours. Extended Evening Hours are offered on select nights during the week and is where either the Magic Kingdom or EPCOT (and sometimes Hollywood Studios) stays open two hours after the park closes to other Guests. It’s almost like you get the entire park to yourself!
