Gary Sinise Foundation Will Be Opening Up an Orlando Chapter
Here at MickeyBlog, we could sing the praises of the Gary Sinise Foundation all day! This charity is known nationwide for helping veterans, first responders, their families and others in need. That’s why we’re so excited to share the news that the Foundation will be opening a chapter in Central Florida according to a recent news report with WESH.
The Gary Sinise Foundation has a wide array of important initiatives including providing modified smart homes to wounded warriors, providing support concerts at military bases worldwide and offering educational programs for children at The National World War II Museum in New Orleans.
One of the reasons the charity is looking to expand its office into Central Florida has to do with the Snowball Express. This service offers Gold Star families the opportunity to help work through the pain of losing a loved one if one of a little while by bringing guests to Disney World for an all-expenses-paid getaway.
Back in December, Actor Gary Sinise, through The Gary Sinise Foundation gifted Walt Disney World Vacations to over 1700 people that have lost a loved one in military service. Working in partnership with American Airlines, the foundation brought families from all around the country to Walt Disney World last December.
Due to amazing endeavours like the one above, in February, Sinise received the Patriot Award at the Reagan Library. This distinction is the highest honor given by the Congressional Medal of Honor Society.
Sinise has continued to work to support veterans and their families since he played the role of Lieutenant Dan in the Academy Award-Winning film Forrest Gump.
