May 24th was a slower day in Disney history, but it still featured the release of a new Disney game, a special Disney Parks event, and the opening of a new land in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. So, let’s get started!
Wild Hearts Can’t Be Broken (1991)
On this day in 1991, Disney released Wild Hearts Can’t Be Broken.
Starring Gabrielle Andwar and Cliff Robertson, the film told the story of Sonora Webster, a teenage runaway during the depression, who wants to be a rider of diving horses.
Toontown Online Launches (2004)
On this day in 2004, Disney Interactive launched Toontown Online.
The online multiplayer game allowed players to create their own Toon and battle the evils Cogs.
Spain Welcomes The Disney Cruise Line (2007)
On this day in 2007, Barcelona, Spain celebrated the arrival of the Disney Magic.
The arrival of the cruise shop marked the first-ever foray by Disney into the European cruise market.
Disney “All-Nighter” Events Kick Off (2013)
On this day in 2013 “All-Nighter” events kicked off at Disneyland and the Magic Kingdom Park.
At Disneyland, thousands of guests counted down with Mike and Sully as fireworks lit up the entrances to both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure.
Pandora- The World of Avatar Dedicated (2017)
On this day in 2017, Panda- The World of Avatar was officially dedicated at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
The land, which transports guests to the planet of Pandora, features the Na’vi River Journey, and Flight of Passage attractions.
Aladdin Released (2019)
On this day in 2019, Aladdin was released.
A live-action adaptation of the 1992 Disney animated classic, the film starred Will Smith, Mena Massoud and Naomi Scott.
Rivers of Light: We Are One Opens (2019)
Also on this day in 2019, Rivers of Light: We Are One opened at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
A retooled version of Rivers of Light, the new version of the show featured more Disney characters.
