Planning is Underway for Disneyland’s Avatar Experience
We’ve got an update on Disneyland’s Avatar experience announced by Bob Iger in February. At a recent event held in Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel, Disneyland President Ken Potrock commented on its current status.

Interestingly, Potrock shares that he was taken aback by the news when it broke during The Walt Disney Company’s earnings call. At the OC Forum, he shared, “And lastly, a project that was announced by Bob Iger. By the way, a surprise to me. Not kidding. It’s great when you hear from your boss what you’re doing.”

Disneyland fans have been wondering where exactly this new experience will go inside the Park. With limited space, some have speculated that it may replace a current attraction.
But Bob Iger has high hopes for the upcoming experience. In reference to property he’s shared, “We actually have more opportunity in California than people are aware.”

James Cameron is over the moon about the project. He’s stated, “I was thrilled to talk with Bob Iger about additional opportunities for people to step into the wondrous world of Pandora.”

He adds, “We’re going to share lots more details as they become available. By the way, as I become aware of what the heck we’re going to do. But stay tuned, it’s going to be really exciting. We’re thinking bold.”
The Orange County Register reports that Avatar: The Way of Water has been an epic success, currently sitting in the third spot of all-time highest-grossing films. The original Avatar is at number one, with a $2.9 billion total.

Disney World’s Pandora has been highly profitable as well. According to Iger, it “increased capacity at Disney’s Animal Kingdom and helped grow Disney’s theme park business.”
Pandora is unarguably an epic feat for Disney. As a Disneyland fan, I cannot wait to see what James Cameron and Imagineers will come up with for the new Avatar experience!
