Let’s Check Out the Rooms at Disney’s Port Orleans – French Quarter
Our MickeyBlogger Kayla is in resort land today and is spending some time at one of my favorite Moderate properties – Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter. Guests staying here get a big dose of the Big Easy right down to the Mardi Gras float-inspired swimming pool, beignets in the food court, and iron balconies looking over beautiful gardens!
Today we’re stepping inside one of the Garden Rooms on the property.
Like all of the Moderate Resorts (With the exception of Gran Destino Tower) the rooms are entered from outside walkways.
Each of the buildings has three stories with elevator access to the upper floors!
Like other Disney moderate properties, the price of rooms varies depending on bed size and views. The room categories are as follows:
- Standard
- Garden View
- River View
- Pool View
- King Bed
The room we popped into today is in the Garden View category.
The rooms are 314 sq feet and feature two queen beds.
All of the rooms at Port Orleans French Quarter feature hard floors and simple elegant furnishings.
Most of the moderate properties have more subtle Disney theming, unlike the colorful more character-heavy Value properties.
The furnishings are simple but there is a small table and chairs as well as a bureau with a television.
There’s also a larger closet cabinet.
There were a couple of fun Disney touches in our room.
There was a towel on the bed in the shape of Mickey!
Also, notice the nod to Princess and the Frog on the bathroom shower curtain.
The bathroom does come with a double vanity.
The room also comes with a shower/tub combination.
H20 product dispensers can be found in the shower.
Disney is still doing a few individual toiletries which you’ll find at the sink area.
We also got a special gift of Mardi Gras beads during our visit.
Port Orleans French Quarter is a fabulous property for those looking for a resort that is compact and doesn’t require too much walking.
It is the smallest of Disney’s Moderate properties.
There are no microwaves in the room but there is a small coffee/tea maker and a mini fridge.
New Orleans-themed artwork also adorns the walls.
Both Port Orleans properties offer boat transportation to and from Disney Springs.
There is also a frequent bus service to take you to and from the theme parks.
