Another Harmonious Barge Has Been Removed From World Showcase Lagoon

Pretty soon, Harmonious’s reign of terror over World Showcase Lagoon will be a part of Disney history.

While I never had the burning hatred that some had for the EPCOT nighttime spectacular, I will admit that it is great to see EPCOT’s lagoon opening up again.

The biggest gripe that many had with the show, outside of its replacing the fan-favorite Illuminations, was the giant barges that sat in the World Showcase lagoon during the daytime.

These barges blocked the many scenic views that World Showcase provides and were a general eyesore.

Only Two Barges Left

Well, I am happy to report, that as the Harmonious infrastructure is slowly taken away, there are now only two Harmonious barges remaining in World Showcase Lagoon!

That’s right, you can now see clearly across the lagoon and behold the American Adventure pavilion in all its star-spangled glory.

Here is a look at the two Harmonious barges remaining in the lagoon. If Disney keeps the pace they are currently working at, these should be removed in the next week or two.

EPCOT Forever Returns

Since Harmonious’ final performance on April 2, 2023, three of the show’s five barges have now been removed.

EPCOT Forever is now back running at the park, after returning on April 3, 2023.

That show, which originally opened on October 1, 2019, was a temporary nighttime show.

Unlike Harmonious, which relied heavily on the music of Disney’s animated films, EPCOT Forever leans into the park’s history, with musical selections from Journey Into Imagination, Spaceship Earth, Horizons, and the Universe of Energy included.
