Last night, our MickeyBloggers Greg and Elyssa attended the amazing Disneyland After Dark “Throwback Nite,” and shared photos of a tasty, retro-inspired treat for us to show you. Feeling hungry, and in the mood for a classic Disneyland bite? Keep reading!
The event last night was the first of two “Throwback Nites” set to be held at Disneyland Park this month, and we couldn’t recommend the experience enough.

Not only does the after-hours ticket give guests the opportunity to enjoy rides and attractions late into the night, but the throwback theme gives guests a real “walk down memory lane” with unique photo opportunities, rare character interactions, and more!
You’ll have to stay tuned to MickeyBlog for details about our experiences with characters, photo opportunities, entertainment, and more at the event, as – for now – we’re here to discuss the snacks!
First on the menu is a true Disneyland classic, served with a fun, retro twist. It’s a Root Beer Float Churro!
After all, what better late-night park snack could there be? With Sleeping Beauty Castle all lit up majestically in the background, it truly does feel like a night-time feast to remember!
What we have here is a classic Disneyland churro, served covered in an intriguing-sounding “root beer-flavored sugar coating.” Sounds fizzy, funky, and fun!
Then, for a finishing bit of sweetness, the churro is drizzled with vanilla ice cream icing.
It all sounds so delicious, and we can’t wait to dig in!
As you can see from the photos, the churro looks as good as ever. I can’t say the ice cream drizzle is adding much to the aesthetics, but it sure did give the treat an extra boost of vanilla-flavored sweetness.
It’s also interesting to note that this was served to us on a paper plate decorated with the Disney100 anniversary logo. We’re yet to see these rolled out further across the US Disney parks, but we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled as the celebrations continue!
If you’re headed to the next “Throwback Nite” at Disneyland this week, be sure to find this Root Beer Float-inspired treat over at the churro carts located in Tomorrowland, Frontierland, and the Castle Hub area. It costs $6.75 inclusive of tax, and is sure to bring a “throwback” smile to your face!
