Fantasmic! To Close for Refurbishment at Disney World in May

Disney fans, if you’ll be heading to Walt Disney World next month then you’ll want to take note that a popular Hollywood Studios nighttime show is going on hiatus. Disney World updated their site with a notification that Fantasmic! will not have performances on May 1st or May 2nd. The reason cited is “routine maintenance.”

For those unfamiliar, Fantasmic! is one of Disney World’s biggest nighttime spectaculars and features stunning visual effects, thrilling stunts, dazzling pyrotechnics, and incredible music. The show tells the story of Mickey Mouse who dreams that he is a sorcerer’s apprentice with the power to control water, color, and magic. The Disney Villains (including a mighty Maleficent in dragon form) turn Mickey’s dream into the stuff of nightmares. However, Mickey’s imagination is strong and may just persevere in the end!

Fantasmic! also features some of your favorite Disney characters including Moana, Mulan, Aladdin, Pocahontas, Belle, Beast, Ariel, and more!

Disney has not outlined the reason for the Fantasmic! closure. We suspect it is just for routine maintenance. If we hear anything further we will pass the details on to you.
