How were the crowds at Walt Disney World this past week?
Here’s all you need to know. Disney Genie+ cost more than ever. And it sold out for several consecutive days anyway.

Holiday crowds at Disney theme parks are no joke. I can prove that with the wait times for Easter Week 2023.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom

To Disney’s credit, the parks ran quite smoothly this past week.
Recently, E-ticket attractions have suffered several high-profile closures during holiday weeks. That typically happens due to overwhelming demand.
Cast members kept the trains running on time during Easter Week, which is a remarkable feat.

So, the wait times we’re about to discuss reflect what I’d describe as optimal performance, all things considered.
In other words, these times could have been much worse if not for all the attractions staying up and running.
Here are the wait times for Animal Kingdom:

Photo: Disney
- Avatar Flight of Passage – 162 minutes, up 57
- Na’vi River Journey – 107 minutes, up 18
- Kilimanjaro Safaris – 82 minutes, up 31
- Kali River Rapids – 72 minutes, up 24
- Expedition Everest – 63 minutes, up 16
- Adventurers Outpost – 58 minutes, up 12
- DINOSAUR – 50 minutes, up 12
- TriceraTop Spin – 26 minutes, up 11
- It’s Tough to Be a Bug! – 22 minutes, up 9

Wow. Animal Kingdom almost never has five attractions with 60+ minute waits. Even three is quite rare. So, this is staggering.
Overall, guests waited for an average of 72 minutes per attraction. That’s up…22 minutes or 44 percent. Mon Dieu.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Because this park has recently opened so many spectacular attractions, it’s always the most crowded park.
While other Walt Disney World parks sometimes claim larger attendance totals, it’s due to the size of each one.
Hollywood Studios remains the smallest of Walt Disney World’s four parks. So, you’ll notice the crowds more here.

In addition, the smaller number of attractions causes ripple effects. People will wait as long as it takes for the best rides here.
Sometimes, as many as seven attractions require 60+ minute waits. As a reminder, one of them, Rock ‘n’ Roller Starring Aerosmith, isn’t open now.

That means the same number of guests is divided among a smaller number of attractions, which inflates wait times that much more.
Here are the average waits at Hollywood Studios for Easter Week:

Overall, guests at Hollywood Studios waited for an average of 62 minutes per attraction. That’s seven more than last time.
Yes, people waited ten minutes longer per attraction at Animal Kingdom than Hollywood Studios this past week. Yes, that’s insane.
EPCOT

Ordinarily, EPCOT proves the most efficient of Walt Disney World’s theme parks.
This park offers several E-ticket attractions, but it also operates some child-friendly lines to siphon traffic from the big stuff.

So, EPCOT rarely requires long waits overall…but it’s Easter. Something’s gotta give.
Here are EPCOT’s average waits for the past week:
