Ride Photos Now Included With Genie+ in Disney World
A lot of things have changed in Disney World over the past few years!
We’ve seen new rides and restaurants open, a giant makeover happen for the 50th Anniversary, and things like Park Pass Reservations become the norm. Another major change was the introduction of Disney Genie+, and now, Genie+ is switching things up once again!
Disney Genie+
Disney Genie+ is the system that replaced FastPass back in 2021 in Disney World. Genie+ is different from FastPass in many ways, but the most significant is that you have to pay to use it, unlike FastPass.

Lightning Lane
Paying for Disney Genie+ gives you the ability to make reservations for the Lightning Lanes (old FastPass lanes) of dozens of rides in the parks. It also gets you some fun things like PhotoPass lenses!
When Genie+ was introduced, the only thing included photo-wise was the PhotoPass lenses (think Snapchat filters). But now, you can get even MORE with your purchase!
Complimentary PhotoPass
Starting today, March 20th, 2023, if you buy Genie+ for the day in Disney World, you will also get ALL PhotoPass digital downloads from the attractions you ride at no extra charge! Yep, you get to take those ride pics home with you.
This applies for any photos you take on a ride you go on the same day as your Genie+ purchase. So, it doesn’t work for any pictures you might’ve taken the day before, or any you take the day after (unless you buy Genie+ for that day again).
So, what rides does this apply for? Well, there are a bunch of rides that take photos of you while you’re on them, but we’ll break down some fan favorites!
Expect for on-ride photos to happen on Pirates of the Caribbean and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train in Magic Kingdom…

…Frozen Ever After and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind in EPCOT…
…Expedition Everest and Dinosaur in Animal Kingdom…
…and Slinky Dog Dash and Tower of Terror in Hollywood Studios!
So, make sure you download your ride photos on those days that you purchase Genie+.
PhotoPass Changes for Annual Passholders
Another thing that’s changing today is that Annual Passholders will now get complimentary access to Disney PhotoPass lenses, as well as one free Cinderella Castle Mural of Memories experience!

But, that’s not all — Annual Passholders can also create and share short Disney-themed video clips with their photos taken in the parks!
More things will be changing in the parks soon. For example, starting April 18th, Disney World Annual Passholders will no longer need Park Pass Reservations to go to the parks after 2PM (except for on Saturdays and Sundays in Magic Kingdom).
