BREAKING: Disney World Genie+ to Add FREE PhotoPass Downloads
It’s a BIG day for Disney news!
Disney just announced that soon Annual Passholders will be able to visit Disney World parks without a park reservation after 2PM on weekdays, Disney World hotel guests can now park for free, and there’s even more news for Disney World guests purchasing Genie+!
Disney Genie+
Remember the free FastPass program that allowed guests to skip the standby line in favor of the much shorter FastPass lane? In case you missed it, Disney has since replaced the FastPass program with the paid Genie+ program, which can cost you between $15 to $29 per person, per day in Disney World depending on what date you visit.
A Genie+ purchase gets you access to ride Lightning Lanes, which often feature shorter wait times than typical standby lines, as well as some extras such as Disney-themed photo lenses within the My Disney Experience app. But now things are changing!
Disney PhotoPass
Disney PhotoPass service offers guests professional photos at ideal Disney World locations, including shots with special added effects, as well as on some rides (to capture that moment you start screaming, of course). In order to access such photos, guests must purchase PhotoPass, which varies from $69 per day to $199.
Beginning sometime within the next few months, a purchase of Genie+ will also include PhotoPass photos taken on select Disney World attractions, such as Space Mountain, Slinky Dog Dash, Test Track, Expedition Everest, and more.
While it seems that this will not include PhotoPass photos taken in other locations around Disney World, ride photos can a great snapshot of a moment in time. If you were on the fence about purchasing Genie+, this might change your mind!

I was wondering about the photopass inclusion with Genie Plus. Are the downloads of the photos going to be free? I read the press release, but it seemed a little vague.
As of my now, if I’m wearing my Magic Band, I still get most of my photopass photos in my Disney experience, but I have to purchase a download. Wondered if you guys at any further knowledge. Thanks – BoilerUp!
