Pedro Pascal Reveals What Wearing The Mandalorian Armor Is Like
Although Pedro Pascal currently has his hands full with zombies on HBO’s “The Last of Us”, he will soon be returning to his role as The Mandalorian in a galaxy far, far away.
In a recent interview with Empire magazine, Pascal discussed the challenges that come with donning the Beskar suit.

“It’s like putting on a head-to-toe glove with weights on it,” Pascal said. “It’s ironic that you can’t see any facial expression because it puts you in the world so completely, and instantly makes the character feel real — but you can’t see shit!”
While Pascal and the Mandalorian team have continued to try and make sure the suit more comfortable over time, it is still uncomfortable for the actor.

“They’ve continued to finesse and make it more comfortable, but it’s like going blind,” Pascal continued. “Your breath completely fogs up the narrow slit that you can see through. There’s no peripheral vision. If there’s a hole, I’m gonna fall into it.”
“You Feel Immediately Powerful”
Despite how uncomfortable the suit may be, Pascal says that he still feels incredibly powerful when wearing it.

Pedro Pascal is The Mandalorian in the Disney+ series THE MANDALORIAN.
“When it’s on, you immediately feel powerful, protected, dangerous and like a protector,” he said.
The Man in the Suit
Because no one can see the Mandalorian’s face for much of the show, Pascal does not always have to be the one in the suit. Although he always provides the character’s voice, a body double is often inside the suit itself.
This unique aspect of the Mandalorian character has allowed Pascal freedom to explore other opportunities in his career.

While stunt doubles Brendan Wayne and Lateef Crowder are often the ones inside the Mandalorian suit, they often discuss their performances with Pascal.
“He would ask me, and I would ask him the same question, which is, ‘Why did you move like this during that moment?’” Wayne said. “We would go back and forth. The great thing about him is he’s not impressed with himself. He’s just an actor. And I mean that in the good way, not the bad way. He likes to learn and he likes to collaborate and he’s very good at it.”
