How Weather Can Affect TRON Lightcycle / Run in Disney World
TRON Lightcycle / Run is opening soon in Magic Kingdom and we’re here to help get you prepared for your very first ride!
TRON will open to the public on April 4th, 2023, and in the meantime, we have been fortunate to experience the ride during Cast Member previews. We’ve been covering the locker storage system, the ride vehicles, and more, and now we’re here to tell you how the weather can affect the ride!
Weather and TRON
We spoke with a TRON Cast Member about how the weather can affect TRON’s operation and we were told that TRON will continue to operate in most weather, except when lightning and/or heavy winds are present.
Because TRON is located under a large canopy, it’s generally safe from the elements, which means that the ride can continue to operate in the rain. We actually saw the ride running during some heavy rain on the first day of Cast Member previews!
Basically, on a rainy Florida day, you likely won’t have a problem riding TRON, but stormy days may cause it to close temporarily.
