Top 5 Woody’s Lunch Box Treats at Toy Story Land!
Just in case you missed it, a very tiny event (not really – it’s an INCREDIBLY HUGE event) happened this past weekend at Walt Disney World!!! On June 30th, Toy Story Land opened at Hollywood Studios. Celebrating one of my favorite Pixar franchise movies of all time, Toy Story Land allows guests to shrink down to the size of a toy and enter Andy’s backyard to interact with all of his toys. And boy – does this land Play BIG! I’ve been anxiously awaiting the opening of this land, and it does not disappoint. Brightly colored toys and decor fill the land with vibrancy, energy, and fun! The most talked about activity from the opening is of course, the two new rides – Slinky Dog Dash and Alien Swirling Saucers.
Well – hold that microphone, Wheezy … we’ve got a new quick service at Hollywood Studios! Woody’s Lunchbox opened on Saturday in Toy Story Land and introduced SO many amazing treats that I have compiled a list of my Top 5 – YES FIVE – to try at this ONE quick service spot.
So, let’s “Reach for the sky!” and go “To infinity and beyond!” with some amazingly delicious food. Today, we are going to feature the Top 5 Woody’s Lunch Box Treats at Toy Story Land!
Number 5: Totchos
First, what in the world is Totchos? They are essentially, tater tots (or potato barrels as Disney calls them) covered in ingredients that are usually layered on top of tortilla chips. Get it? Tater tot + Nachos = Totchos! This version includes potato barrels, corn chips, chili and cheese. It’s not for the faint of heart, but if you love unique combinations of old favorites, this one hits the spot!
Number 4: BBQ Brisket Melt
Woody’s Lunch Box is a quick service that currently serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. As the name would describe, the lunch and dinner menu items are mostly treats that a guest would more often enjoy at lunch. However, the Number 4 pick – the BBQ Brisket Melt – is my recommendation to any guest looking for a heartier bite to eat at dinner. The smoked brisket is sliced thin and has a nice char with smoky flavor. The brisket shares space with tangy pickles, BBQ sauce and ooey-gooey Cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses. Tangy grilled sourdough bread holds all the filling in one handy spot for the perfect bite. It’s hearty, it’s tasty, and it’s melty!
Number 3: S’more French Toast Breakfast Sandwich
Vacation is supposed to be fun, right? Well, the Number 3 spot on my list goes to a breakfast sandwich that says … we’re on vacation and we’re going to eat … ‘S’mores for BREAKFAST! Oh yea, the S’more French Toast Breakfast Sandwich is a decadent brioche bread soaked in custard and stuffed with melted chocolate ganache and toasted marshmallow. It is then encrusted with graham cracker crumbs and toasted to perfection. Move over Tonga Toast, there is a new French Toast in town and it. is. unreal. Vacationing at Disney is a place where dreams can come true. I never have dreamed of eating a S’more for breakfast, but I do now!
Number 2: Grilled Three-Cheese Sandwich
It seems like such a simple item. Grilled cheese. Quite pedestrian and something you can find on most menus. But this particular sandwich has quickly risen as a menu favorite with many guests commenting that it was “the best grilled cheese they ever tasted.” What’s so great about it? The combination of cheeses – melted provolone, cheddar cheese with a cheddar cream cheese spread – makes for a melted rich bite of sharp, smoky and creamy flavor. Sandwiched between two thick slices of thick french bread that’s been spread with garlic butter and then grilled to crisp perfection. A grilled cheese can seem quite ordinary until it becomes extraordinary. And this one is a notch above the rest!
Number 1: Lunch Box Tarts
Why are Lunch Box Tarts Number 1 on my list? First, they are adorable. I predict that these will be the favorite treat of guests wanting to showcase their experience at Woody’s Lunch Box for all of their social media friends to enjoy! Next, they are delicious. Guests can choose a toasted pastry crust filled with raspberry and topped with pink icing and dried fruit. Or, chocolate lovers can choose a chocolate-hazelnut filled tart coated with a thin layer of white icing and … wait for it … caramelized bacon! You KNOW how much I love salty, sweet combinations! This is a winner in my book! Finally, they are portable. Little pockets of deliciously filled pastry allows guests to stroll around Toy Story Land, enjoying their treat and savoring the experience of shrinking down to the size of a toy in Andy’s backyard! It’s the perfect moment where you truly feel fully immersed in the experience from head to toe and … well … stomach, too! AND – bonus points – it’s on the breakfast, lunch, and dinner menus! Disney defines them as “dessert”, but you can have them for breakfast, too!
Honorable Mention: Seriously … EVERYTHING else!
With Mystic Mortal Punch, Grown-Ups Lemonade, smoked turkey sandwiches, ice cream floats, Monte Cristo sandwiches, and an endless array of breakfast items like banana split yogurt parfaits, egg bowls and sandwiches, it was SUPER hard to narrow down the list to just five treats. The struggle is real, folks!
Toy Story Land is a hit and so is the food! So, whether you are starting your day by “rope dropping” one of the amazing new attractions or finishing the evening under the glow of Toy Story Land’s at night, stop by Woody’s Lunch Box for a bite to eat!
