Disney Parks Blog shares that the feature gives insight into the relationship between Lincoln and Douglass. Walt Disney Imagineering joined with National Geographic and Disneyland’s PULSE Business Employee Resource Group (BERG) to bring the story to life.
Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln is located in the Main Street Opera House within Disneyland Park. Guests can now observe the 9-minute documentary there, as they learn about Lincoln and Douglass’ plight against slavery.
Disney hopes to inspire Guests with the feature, encouraging unity across cultures, races, and religions. Last April, new art pieces were added to the lobby.
A sculpture and picture of Douglass now sit near tributes to Abraham Lincoln. The attraction opened in 1965, telling the story of the 16th President of the United States.

ABC’s Robin Roberts narrates the new pre-show. It follows Douglass’ transition from a former slave to an influential leader in the abolitionist movement.
Family members down Douglass’ line provide testimonials in the video. Cast Members got to preview the new footage in a private showing before it debuted to the public.
