Could Disney’s Coco Be Broadway Bound?
Thanks to a recent Disney on Broadway performance at the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts we may now know the next Disney film being adapted for Broadway! The internet is currently abuzz with the news that Pixar’s Coco is being adopted into a Broadway musical.

Disney on Broadway
The news about Coco on Broadway came during the Disney on Broadway Concert Series. For those unfamiliar, the concert series, which takes place a few times nightly at the American Gardens Theater in EPCOT during Festival of the Arts, features stars from previous or current Disney on Broadway productions. During one of these recent sets, Mandy Gonzalez who previously starred in Aida on Broadway along with The Lion King Alumni L. Steven Taylor shared the Coco news.

As you can see from the clip above, it is still early ages for the project so it may be a while before we see Miguel, Dante, Mama Coco and the rest of the gang on the Great White Way. As CinemaBlend points out, we also don’t know if the original composer Michael Giacchino or the songwriting team of Germaine Franco, Adrian Molina, Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez will be involved in a Broadway adaptation.
We are so excited about the possibility of Coco becoming a Broadway music. The story, with scenes set in the Land of the Dead could make for an absolutely awe-inspiring set design.
This is a story that we will continue to follow closely. We promise to keep you updated about this and other Disney on Broadway production news so keep checking back with us.
