Return of Walt Disney World Railroad Gains Momentum
All aboard! We’ve got a sneaking suspicion that we’ll be hearing those words in early 2023 when the Walt Disney World Railroad returns to the delight of steam train enthusiasts of all ages.
Here’s what we know so far!
Walt Disney World Railroad
If you’ve been following along with MickeyBlog you’ll know that the Walt Disney World Railroad has been out of commission since before the pandemic.
It’s been a long time. A really long time!
It’s been down because the track for the attraction needed to be removed due to construction on the new TRON Coaster.
The bulk of the work on the TRON coaster has now been completed which includes a tunnel to accommodate the railroad.
How cool is that?!
Over the past few months the tracks have been laid back down.
Testing of the steam engines has been underway for a couple of months.
Disney also assembled a new team of cast members to work on the attraction.
During our visit to the the parks this week, we managed to capture a few images of training underway.
As of going to print, Disney has yet to announce an official re-opening date for the Walt Disney World Railroad.
We suspect that both the TRON Coaster and the Railroad will be opening around the same time.
We hope that Disney will be sharing the news as a Christmas present for excited fans.
