MickeyBlog is in Southern California’s Theme Parks, and we’re excited to share its Christmas festivities with you! Let’s celebrate the wonders of “it’s a small world” Holiday by taking a look at its 25-year reign at the Disneyland Resort.
“it’s a small world” Holiday
This ride truly comes to life during the Christmas season. In a similar fashion to Haunted Mansion Holiday, it transforms into something unique and spectacular!
Its festive exterior illuminates the night sky with jubilant twinkle lights that brighten faces as they turn the corner in Fantasyland. Almost one million lights adorn the iconic ride for the holidays.
As you make your way towards the attraction, the “it’s a small world” theme song plays with a holiday twist. But, that’s not all!
Once dusk approaches, the facade comes to life with an amazing projection show that plays every 30 minutes. It’s a Christmas memory you will never forget, and we haven’t even gotten to the ride’s interior yet!
Inside, the attraction undergoes a complete metamorphosis. Holiday cheer welcomes Guests at every turn.
Unique decorations celebrate various cultures. Take a deep breath in; it smells just like Christmas!
So, how did this extraordinary ride come to be? Let’s take a quick look at its origin story.
Celebrating 25 Years at Disneyland Resort
While the ride opened in 1966, its festive overlay didn’t commence until 1997. Popular with Guests since its inception, it’s brought wonder to Disneyland for 25 years!
In late October, it closes, as Cast Members “deck the halls” for Christmas. It reopens in early November just in time for the holiday festivities.
If you haven’t experienced this attraction, we highly recommend it! The holiday version runs from November 11 to January 8, 2023.
