Opening Date Set For Mickey’s Toontown at Disneyland
Oh boy! Do we have some fabulous news for your Friday! Disneyland theme park has just released an official opening date for the re-imagining of Mickey’s Toontown – March 8, 2023.
If you’ve been following along with MickeyBlog, you’ll know that Disney first announced the ambitious changes coming to Mickey’s Toontown last year. Among the changes will be all new experiences for families. Some of them, you may already know about like the Disneyland version of Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway. Adding to the awesomeness are a few other surprises. Let’s take a closer look:
CenTOONial Park
A highlight of the new Mickey’s Toontown is an open, grassy play space where Disney fans of all ages can unwind. Dubbed CenTOONial Park, this is the first area that guests will see when entering Toontown. The park will include two new interactive play experiences, a fountain with water tables designed for play plus a dreaming tree with sculpted tree roots providing an opportunity for children to crawl and explore.
Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway
Head to the El CapiTOON Theater, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway which magically transport you to the wacky and unpredictable cartoon world of Mickey and Minnie where you’ll board a train with Goofy as engineer. You’re sure to be smitten with the zaniness of this out-of-control adventure complete with inspiring twists and turns!
Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway will open ahead of the official debut of Toontown on January 27, 2023.
Goofy’s Hard-To-Play Yard
Disney provided us a first-look today at the aerial rendering of this exciting new Toontown area. Dedicated to all things play, Goofy’s How-To-Play Yard incorporates a whimsical sound garden where kids will love making wacky noises as well as an elevate clubhouse.
From the moment you step inside Goofy’s House, you’ll find an interactive candy-making contraption that begins outside of Goofy’s home as drips of honey fall from a beehive onto a chute that slides the colorful drops around and down into the home. Now it’s up to junior candymakers to help Goofy make the candy complete with silly sounds from the household appliances.
Donald’s Duck Pond
Donald’s Boat takes center stage in the duck pond adjacent to the Goofy homestead. Donald’s will include larger-than-life spinning water lilies, balance beams and rocking toys. You can also look into the boat through the portholes to witness bubbles of fun inside the flooded vessel and interact with none other than Huey, Dewey, Louie and Webby.
Chip ‘n’ Dale’s GADGETcoaster
This coaster was masterminded by Mickey’s Toontown’s favorite tinkerer – Gadget Hackwrench. He’s created a one-of-a-kind, fun sized coaster for the towns tiniest citizens.
Mickey’s House and Minnie’s House
Guests will once again be able to step right into the homes of your favorite Disney duo. Embark on a self-guided tour to discover special surprises in every room. You may even have a chance to mingle with Mickey and Minnie while you’re there!
Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin
This beloved Toontown attraction will also return. Board Lenny the Cab and spin through the streets and alleys of Toontown as you follow the adventures of Roger Rabbit.

Café Daisy
When hunger strikes head to this cozy café where acclaimed culinary expert Daisy Duck serves up diner classics at her sidewalk table eatery. Other dining options include the Toontown Farmers Market at Good Boy! Grocers which offers grab-and-go-drinks and treats!
