CONSTRUCTION UPDATE: Tron Coaster Still a Work in Progress
Our MickeyBlogger jumped on the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover today to take our weekly look at how construction is coming along on the TRON Coaster.
From a distance the attraction looks almost complete.
We even managed to catch some ride testing today. You can see the ride vehicles on the track above.
Testing of the track and the light cycles is becoming more and more common as we inch ever closer to the attractions Early 2023 release. During the D23 Expo, Disney President Josh D’Amaro shared footage of him riding the attraction.
However, it is still an active construction site and barrier walls are still up between the TRON coaster and the Tomorrowland Speedway.
Construction workers were still hard at work on the entrance to the attraction.
Underneath the TRON Coaster you can see the tunnel that will be used for the Walt Disney World Railroad.
Wavy concrete partitions have also been put up over the past couple of weeks.
Above you can also see the concrete slabs on the ground in front of the entrance to the attraction.
You get a clearer picture of the entrance and exists of the attraction.
You can see construction teams working on various areas throughout the exterior of the attraction.
As you can see, the TRON coaster sits close to Space Mountain which is the building to the right.
With this mind, work is also being carried out to the Light & Power Co, the gift shop of Space Mountain.
As you can see from these images, segments of the Walt Disney World Railroad track are also under repair.
This railroad is expected to open right around the same time as the TRON coaster and they’ve already been training engineers to work the attraction.
Here’s a quick video of the TRON construction site.
