Everyone who follows MickeyBlog believes in Magic, and in that way the folks that run Operation BBQ Relief are our people! Since May of 2011, OBR has deployed to disasters in over 30 states and served over 9,729,201 meals to victims and first responders.

Bringing the comfort and security of hot food to those in need is a very special kind of Magic, and OBR volunteers make it happen every day! Their website explains, “Armed with a caravan of cooks, mobile pits, kitchens and volunteers, Operation BBQ Relief delivers the healing power of BBQ in times of need, feeding first responders and communities affected by natural disasters along with year-round efforts to fight hunger through The Always Serving Project® and Camp OBR™ programs.”

Operation BBQ Relief didn’t hesitate to step up when Hurricane Ian headed for the Florida coast. When they arrive, they will set up an impressive culinary center with all the cooking equipment you can imagine.

They will prepare an array of food purchased or donated, but don’t think that this is a frozen meal or pack of crackers! OBR was founded by people from the Competition BBQ circuit and so often they bulk prepare smoked or grilled meats. This provides high quality meals for pick up or delivery!
