NEW “Tangled” Ride Announced for Disneyland Paris, and More Details on Walt Disney Studios Park Expansion!
The highly-anticipated Parks, Products, and Experiences panel took place at the D23 Expo this morning, and boy was it a big one! Chairperson Josh D’Amaro was on stage making all kinds of announcements, from returning favorites to mind-boggling new park experiences.
Amongst all the news, the Anna and Elsa fans among us will have particularly enjoyed the focus on the three new Frozen-inspired lands, coming to three different Disney resorts worldwide. That’s a lot of frozen flurries, and you can read more about these updates here.
Over in Disneyland Paris, the Frozen-inspired land will be part of a long-term plan for the evolution of the Walt Disney Studios Park. This project began with the Avengers Campus, which opened to guests early this summer, and Frozen will be the next step in this exciting development.
We were so excited to hear more updates about the land during the D23 panel, but were thrilled when we got more than we bargained for, with even more new details announced than we were expecting!
While detailing the plans for the expansion of the Walt Disney Studios Park at Paris, Josh D’Amaro revealed that guests would access the Frozen land by walking along an all-new promenade, set to be built in the park.
The stunning concept art below gives us a look at what we can expect – and there’s so much to look at! For placement context, refer to the location of that huge horseshoe shape of the RC Racer attraction, which is currently situated in the Toy Story Playland area of the park.
It looks like a huge, yet dazzling project, and we can’t wait to explore this enchanting-looking space in the future of the park. But, Josh D’Amaro wasn’t finished!
Also announced for this new expansion was an all-new attraction, inspired by the movie Tangled. Little was said about this attraction, but audience members were promised that it would be a ride suitable for everyone – even the smallest of guests!
We can’t infer much from the concept art, but can see a gorgeous area with Flynn and Rapunzel in their boat atop a lake. I wonder if this will be part of the attraction, or just a stunning thematic feature?
Either way, we can’t wait to find out!
