Tomorrowland Light & Power Co. Closes as Construction Continues on Nearby Tron Coaster
The exit/retail space to the iconic Space Mountain attraction, Tomorrowland Light & Power Co., has temporarily closed. We first noticed the closure as we were making our way through the Magic Kingdom this morning.
While we don’t have an exact reason for the temporarily closure, we suspect it might have something to do with the ongoing construction for the much-anticipated Tron Coaster. The Tron Coaster is just adjacent to Tomorrowland Light & Power Co.
There are some other theories floating around on why the Space Mountain-themed store is temporarily closed. Some are speculating that the store might close for good and be re-opened as part of the Tron Coaster. It might just also be closed as it’s in the active construction zone while work on the Coaster continues.
We tried to confirm how long the Space Mountain exit/retail store might be closed, but did not receive an exact answer.
While Tomorrowland Light & Power Co. is closed, Guests are exiting Space Mountain through a door right next to entrance of the store and the attraction’s Lightning Lane entrance.
While an official opening date of the Tron Coaster has not yet been announced, it’s looking more and more likely that it will be sometime in 2023. We should hear more of an exact timeframe during the upcoming D23 Expo that will be held next month.
Make sure to keep it here with MickeyBlog.com as we continue to follow the temporary closing of Tomorrowland Light & Power Co. as well as the official opening date of the Tron Coaster!

I read elsewhere that they are refurbishing the store, and the permit to refurbish seemed to suggest a week-long project, so probably some re-theming of the store to fit Tron merch in as well.
