A Socially Distanced, Mini Gingerbread Display Goes Up at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
One of my favorite holiday traditions at Walt Disney World is the larger-than-life gingerbread house display at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. Though, like everything else this year, that display has been cancelled. But, that didn’t stop the flagship Walt Disney World Resort Hotel from putting up a socially distanced, mini version of the gingerbread display this year! And, this year, the display is located in the Lobby of the Grand Floridian Villas – NOT the Lobby in the main part of the Resort.
While Guests will not be able to purchase hot chocolate and other holiday goodies from this mini gingerbread display at the Grand Floridian, they can still get a ‘taste’ of what the members of the culinary team at the Grand Floridian Bakery are capable of.
This years gingerbread display at the Grand Floridian features two gingerbread houses atop of two risers covered in icicles. Underneath the gingerbread houses are a nutcracker, Santa Clause, and adorable reindeer. The display is also decorated with Christmas Trees and poinsettias.
Like everything else at Disney, no detail goes untouched! Take a look at the little details on each of the gingerbread houses in the display!
The back of the gingerbread house in the display features a white chocolate plate with “Grand Floridian Resort” written on it.
To keep up with social distancing around the display, markers have been set up reminding everyone to keep at least six feet between other parties. This falls in line with anywhere you look around the Walt Disney World Resort as Disney is taking everyone’s health and safety seriously.

The delightful scent of gingerbread fills the lobby of DisneyÕs Grand Floridian Resort & Spa at the Walt Disney World Resort where this Victorian gingerbread house is on display for the holidays. Grand Floridian pastry chefs create the 16-foot-high dream house with 1, 050 pounds of honey, 600 pounds of powdered sugar, 800 pounds of flour, 140 pints of egg whites and 180 pounds of apricot glaze. If you have never seen the usual gingerbread house display at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, you are missing out! As soon as you step inside the lobby of the Resort, you are taken over by that sweet smell of the holidays. As you feast your eyes on the display, your draw will drop on how they managed to make a mini house out of gingerbread. But, hey, that’s Disney magic for ya!
