Halfway to Christmas: Time to Start Planning Your Disney Tree for 2022
It seems crazy to think of Christmas already, but 2022 is already half over! It just makes sense to blend the most magical holiday with the most magical place on Earth!
A visit to Disney’s Days of Christmas in Disney Springs, we planned out the perfect theme for your tree this year… Magic Kingdom!
The shop has a whole wall of Walt Disney World attractions turned into the famous Mickey hat, and we are here for it!
Each ornament is $24.99 and we found enough attractions. to create a beautiful Christmas tree.
If you’re really feeling in the spirit, you could have a series of 4 different size trees, one for each park’s attractions, buuuuuut that might be a little much all at once!
Adventureland
Enchanted Tiki Room: While many people ignore this attraction, we are thrilled that the collection didn’t leave out the “Tiki, tiki, tiki, tiki room”.
The enchanted tikis are all around the base and surrounded by foliage while the ears are simple yellow with one tiki playing the drums on one. We loved the bamboo/grass detail outlining the rim of the ears.
Jungle Cruise: This ornament was the first one that Disney released in this collection and we are in love. The Mickey hat theme is subtle here, though you can clearly see ears making it a Mickey.
The whole Jungle cruise boat is the main feature with a Skipper front and center. Let’s be honest, it’s the skippers that make Jungle Cruise, am I right? One one ear it’s the 3 cheeky monkeys, and on the other it’s the baby elephant bathing himself.
Pirates of the Caribbean: Pirates of the Caribbean is one of our favorite attractions, but we hate to say that this is not our favorite ornament. It went a little dark. We would love to see one with Pirate Red, or maybe that scene where the lady is chasing the man in circles with a broom.
The Mickey base shows the pirate skull with a banner that says, “Dead men tell no tales”. On one ear is a portrait of a skeleton pirate with a sword through his chest and the other is the skeleton by the treasure chest.
Frontierland
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad: This ornament is the ominous rocky mountain with an exposed skeleton, and coming around the bend is our favorite train.
Hope it doesn’t run off the rails! The ears show the Big Thunder Mountain brand and on the back of the ears are western desert scenes.
Fantasyland
Mad Tea Party: We’re not sure why they didn’t think to make the tea cup ride vehicle be the base of the hat, but that’s ok.
We still love our Alice in Wonderland themed Mickey hat ornament.
Peter Pan’s Flight: This is our favorite ornament! This is a very subtle Mickey with the base being the Jolly Roger, and the ears being Peter Pan and Tinkerbell on one side and the other sides show Captain Hook and that rascal Tick Tock Croc.
Seven Dwarfs Mine Train: Heigh ho! The hat is the mine entrance, and the ears are the ride sign with a lantern and Dopey ready to dig, dig, dig, dig, dig, dig, dig…*You have to sing it*
Of course, we have to note that the ears are also bordered with the beloved gems.
it’s a small world: Think what you want of this classic attraction, but we love it and love that we can now add it to our Magic Kingdom Christmas!
Little children from around the world are featured all the way around the Mickey hat base, and the ears are simple with one ear saying “it’s a small world” and the other side shows the clock face that the attraction is famous for.
Tomorrowland
Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin: Buzz is featured right in the middle with his blaster and they actually made the base of the Mickey hat into a ride vehicle! Zurg is on one ear and the green aliens on the other.
The only thing that would make this better is if they put a perfect 999,999 Galactic Hero score on the ride vehicle!
Space Mountain: This ornament was the most discrete Mickey.
The actual ride building makes the base of the hat design and the ears are made up of a planet and the Tomorrowland logo on one side and the Space Mountain logo on the other.
We’re still missing a few heavy hitters like Haunted Mansion, People Mover, and Carousel of Progress, but we say that just means there’s room to grow! This whole collection to create your Magic Kingdom Christmas tree will cost $24.
