Work Underway at Walt Disney World Railroad Fantasyland Station
MickeyBlog is at the Magic Kingdom today where we dropped by Storybook Circus to check out some progress we heard that is being made on the Walt Disney World Railroad.
If you’ve been following along with MickeyBlog you’ll know that the Walt Disney World Railroad was closed when construction began on the Tron Coaster as the coaster overlaps the railroad tracks.
Now as we enter the final phases of the TRON Coaster construction we are starting to see Disney prep to bring back the railroad. Tracks are being laid from Storybook Circus to Tomorrowland.
There is even a tunnel built into the lower level of the Tron Coaster that the Walt Disney World Railroad will pass through when it returns.
The Storybook Circus/ Fantasyland station near Dumbo the Flying Elephant has long been a popular embarkation spot due to its close proximity to Fantasyland and areas of Tomorrowland.
When in service, it provides a quick way to get around the perimeter of Magic Kingdom with additional stops at Main Street USA and Frontierland.
The tracks are now down once again in Storybook Circus. These were lifted during the construction process.
This is definitely a positive sign that the railroad will hopefully be back soon.
Because of the way that the Magic Kingdom is laid out, Storybook Circus actually sits next to the TRON construction site in Tomorrowland.
If you want to get a good look at the construction of Disney World’s newest coaster, we recommend you do so from the queue of The Barnstormer in Storybook Circus which offers some awesome sightlines!
We’ll continue to track the process of the railroad reopening.
We’ll keep you posted as and when we find out more about the railroad reopening!
