Railroad Tracks Being Laid as TRON Construction Continues
It is a bustle of activity over at Tomorrowland in the Magic Kingdom this afternoon.
Work continues at a slow and steady pace over at the TRON Lightcycle attraction.
Earlier this week we shared images of workers tethered to the canopies as they work on covering the remaining scaffolding.
Today it is more of the same with only a small segment of the canopies yet to be covered.
These canopies are really large so this is no easy feat!
We also know that the lightcycle cars are already in place at the ride.
Some track testing has already taken place.
You can also see additional workers affixing the canopy fabric using a crane.
Here’s our view from atop the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover.
You can see the Light and Power Co nearby giving you a sense of the location of the ride.
It is adjacent to Space Mountain.
Imagineers were onsite earlier this week inspecting the attraction.
There’s no word yet on when the TRON coaster is expected to open.
Our MickeyBloggers got to see the workers scale the canopies which is pretty impressive.
The canopies are now looking stunning.
The attraction also sits just next to the Tomorrowland Speedway.
It really changes the skyline of Tomorrowland.
Here’s a closer look at the many levels of the attraction.
Work is still being done to the queuing areas.
In the image above you can see the actual coaster track underneath the canopy.
Once the ride is complete these canopies will light up giving riders the feeling that you are soaring through cyberspace.
We previously mentioned to you that Disney World has started testing the Walt Disney Railroad.
The classic attraction has been on hiatus since the TRON construction started.
However, there is a tunnel for the railroad that has been built into the TRON coaster.
That is allowing work to be done to restore the Railroad.
If you want to see the railroad tunnel, we recommend that you do this from Storybook Circus near The Barnstormer.
That area of the park provides fantastic views of the train station and the track as it heads towards TRON.
Below is a look at the sight around the railroad tracks.
In the image below you can actually see the tracks.
This has us just as excited to ride the railroad as it does to go on the TRON coaster.
We will continue to follow the coaster construction closely.
