Doctor Strange Still Pulling in Over $30 Million at Domestic Box Office on Third Weekend
The juggernaut that is Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is still raking it in at the box office having generated another $31.6 million domestically in its third weekend. It has currently grossed $342.1 million.
So how does this stack up when compared to other Marvel films? According to a recent piece in Forbes, the film has grossed more than Thor: Ragnarok ($315 million) Iron Man ($318 million) Deadpool 2 ($324 million) and Guardians of the Galaxy ($333 million.)
It remains to be seen how the film will fair over the busy Memorial Day Weekend but as of going to print, the film has already passed Robert Pattinson’s The Batman worldwide by earning $461.1 million overseas bringing the global total to $803.2 million. This isn’t bad considering that China is still out of the global market as they continue to grapple with the COVID-19 pandemic.
It’s possible that the film could still surpass The Batman to become the highest grossing film of 2023. So far Batman has brought in just under $950 million.
