John Williams Penned ‘Obi-Wan-Kenobi’ Theme in Two Weeks
The galaxy far far away is home to many legendary figures, but few are as influential as the iconic composer John Williams, who has now penned the theme for the Obi-Wan-Kenobi series in two short weeks!
The name John Williams has almost become synonymous with the Star Wars series itself. Having composed all nine films of the Skywalker saga and dipped his hands through themes in Rogue One, Solo, and Clone Wars (2008), John Williams’ scores have moved countless fans.

While most of the series will be composed by Natalie Holt, having worked with Disney on ‘Loki’, Williams was able to find time in his busy schedule to pen the theme for the only Star Wars character he didn’t write one for in the original, Obi-Wan-Kenobi.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Natalie Holt spoke on how Williams was on a very tight schedule, managing to come onto the team and write the title theme as well as Obi-Wan’s theme in a mere two weeks, Holt stated:

“I think he had two weeks and he came on board and wrote the Obi theme and a suite, which is the main title, and then a few variations of how the Obi theme can work.”
Holt further acknowledged that having William’s theme allowed her to formulate an overarching theme confessing that “It’s so perfect and in a way, once I had that Obi theme, it set the tentpoles up for the project.”

Currently John Williams is working intensely composing The Fabelmans and Indiana Jones 5, but his work on Star Wars will never be forgotten. With Natalie Holt surmizing that his work on the series as the theme for Kenobi will add an extra layer of legitimacy.
Already Kenobi is a massive fan-favorite, and fans have been heavily anticipating the series since it was announced in 2019. With a theme to finally call his own, watching Kenobi on the run from Imperial forces is an adventure long in the making.
