“After getting an update on the latest progress and an early test ride on Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, I have three words: it is AWESOME!!! Thank you to the teams at Walt Disney Imagineering and Walt Disney World who are bringing this amazing attraction to life. I’m looking forward to seeing the finishing touches over the next several months and can’t wait for you to get a look when it opens at EPCOT next summer as part of the park’s transformation!” Vahle said in an Instagram post.

“Cosmic Rewind” transformed the building that once house the Universe of Energy pavillion and the Ellen’s Energy Adventure attraction in the area formerly known as Future World. Rebranded as part of World Discover, the Wonders of Xandar pavillion finally brings a piece of the Marvel Cinematic Universe to the Walt Disney World Resort with the upcoming unveiling of the new attraction.

The “one-of-a-kind storytelling coaster” bursts with exciting new technology, including a reverse launch system and a ride vehicle that rotates 360 degrees. Even the paint colors throughout “Cosmic Rewind” feature a little superhero magic. The hues have the ability to shift dramatically depending on the light and other factors, according to Imagineer Zach Riddley in a recent Instagram post.

We certainly can’t wait for the first opportunity to blast off to Xandar on one of the longest indoor roller coasters in the world and the first coaster-based thrill ride at EPCOT in its almost 40-year history.
