Take a Look at the Cost of Disney World Ticket Prices in 1971
Disney World officially opened on October 1st, 1971. A lot has changed over the course of 50 years, and the main thing has been ticket prices. On opening day, the price for tickets and transportation was a whopping $4.75. That also only included 7 attractions. Take a look at the increases over the years.
- 1981: $9.50
- 1991: $33
- 2001: $48
- 2011: $85
- 2021: $109
That seems to be about a 25% increase over the decade which some people will argue to pretty decent. Then there are others that think the price for tickets are way too high and Disney is pricing out the lower to middle class family.
But Disney continues to expand, refurbish, and dream up new ideas for guests from all over the world. With current EPCOT overhaul to the new TRON attractions currently being built, Disney is always dreaming of the next big thing to add to the parks.
As we celebrate 50 years of Walt Disney World, there is one thing that will always stay the same, the Magic will always be waiting for our next visit.
