‘High School Musical: The Musical: The Series’ Has Been Renewed for a Third Season
Calling all Wildcats, we’re thrilled to report that High School Musical: The Musical: The Series has been renewed for a third season!
That’s right, there are set to be at least as many seasons of the hit Disney+ musical comedy than original High School Musical movies themselves.
No dates have been announced yet, but the green light has been given to the production.
As reported by Variety, creator and executive producer on HSM:TM:TS Tim Federle stated “we are overjoyed to be heading to the great outdoors for season three, and grateful to our partners and friends at Disney Plus for their continued support of our next-generation Wildcats”.
So, it looks like the next-gen Wildcats (Wildkittens?) are leaving East High to spend summer break at camp.
We’re sure to see campfire concerts, outdoorsy activities and so much more – and we can’t wait.
After all, High School Musical 2 featured the gang spending their summer in a fancy resort, and shenanigans ensued.
Will we see E.J. and co. making music on pots and pans, or Nina teaching some aqua-aerobics? We shall have to wait and see.
The series’ production will take place in Los Angeles, a westward move from its usual home of Salt Lake City. The show originally premiered exclusively on Disney+ in 2019, with the second season dropping earlier this year.
If you haven’t already watched High School Musical: The Musical: The Series – what are you waiting for? Don’t let the over-punctuated title put you off, this awesome family show has won awards, made new stars of its cast and been a huge success amongst fans.
Whether you grew up with the classic movie trilogy or not, we recommend you “getcha head in the game” and give the series a watch.
