Northern Ireland Girl Recreates “Lion King,” Goes Viral
Eight-year-old Autumn McCarthy spent the last year reveling in quite a feat. Her very first YouTube video went viral. The emotional scene features a redevelopment of an iconic moment from Disney’s “The Lion King” with her stuffed animals,.
Using her beloved plush toys of the strong Mufasa, the scheming Scar, and young Simba, the clever McCarthy uses creative angles to recreate the drama of the scene. Her incredibly popular video also adds intensity by using the original dialogue and score from the Academy Award-winning animated film.

“She loves making videos, particularly if they are to do with animals, and she has really got into editing them and putting them all together, she would love to be a filmmaker or a Youtuber. Since then she has gone on to do even more and she just loves it and I am very proud to see her doing so well at it,” Autmn’s mother Laura Williamson said in an article recently written by Belfast Live regarding the viral video.
The young videomaker first posted the video on April 30, 2020, just as the world was headed into lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, the video has received more than 697 thousand views. Autumn’s channel has also mainted popularity. Currently, the young lady boasts almost 2,000 followers.
Autumn resides in Dunmurry, which is a town in western Belfast, the capital of Northern Ireland.
