Are There Post Credit Scenes For Shang-Chi!?
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the 10 Rings is the film that everyone is talking about this Labor Day weekend as is already surpassing box office records.
For those that haven’t seen the film, or for those that have but left early, many Marvel fans are wondering if there were post-credit scenes and what they might mean for future MCU projects.
DISCLAIMER: If you plan on seeing this film or don’t want to know about the post credit scenes stop now…there will be spoilers!
How Many Shang-Chi Post Credit Scenes Are There!?
According to a recent piece in the New York Post, there are TWO post-credit scenes at the end of the film. This includes a mid-credits scene along with a post-credits scene.
What Is Revealed in Each of the Post Credit Scenes?
Mid Credit Scene
Let’s start with the mid-credit scene. In the clip, we see Shang-Chi (Simu Liu) and Katy (Awkwafina) pulled out of there dinner plans by Wong (Benedict Wong.) He advises that he needs their help for an undisclosed mission and before the clip ends we learn that not only will Shan-Chi and Katy be involved but that they will be joined by The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) and Captain Marvel (Brie Larson).”
The Avengers go on to explain that the ancestral power exhibited by Wenwu and Shang raises concerns for the heroes and ancient foes. Carol Danvers (Captain Marvel) advises that the Ten Rings have served as a beacon and have sent a symbol out to some sort of mysterious entity in the galaxy.
This could indicate a connection to The Eternals which is slated to come out on November 5, 2021.
Post-credits
Then we have the final credits scene. In this clip we see Shang’s sister Xialing (Meng’er Zhang) at home in China. She is sorting through her childhood things and reflecting on the events that just took place in the film. Xialing is the natural successor to Wenwu. Viewers are left with a sense of uncertainty as to whether this means that Xialing could be a reoccurring character in the MCU and if she’ll be hero or Villain.
We’ll need to see how both of these scenes play out in future Marvel films. This is a story that we’ll continue to follow closely. Readers are encouraged to keep checking back with us for further news and updates.
