Rumor: More Mobius In Store For Marvel?
On the eve of Loki’s Season 1 finale, one report says Owen Wilson will return…
Scoops are as good as their confirmation, and sometimes it is just easier to ignore them. But this one seemed to have a bit of panache. And, given that Wednesday is the end of the first season of Loki on Disney+, I figured what the heck.
Especially since the news is pretty happy (for pretty much everyone).
Over at Giant Freakin Robot, Faith McKay posted:
Thanks to a trusted and proven inside source for Giant Freakin Robot, we’ve learned that Owen Wilson will in fact be returning for more Marvel projects beyond Loki. While Marvel will often keep characters around for multiple projects, fans of the character on the Disney+ series will be relieved to know that this won’t be the end for the actor.”
How will Mobius stick around?
Now, GiantFreakinRobot.com didn’t know if it was the plan the whole time (or if the series’ success has bred more projects) but explained that signs point to Mobius making more Marvel appearances.
“It seems clear that the studio has plans to bring a lot of story elements from their Disney+ series forward into future series and Marvel movies for the big screen,” added McKay. “The development of the TVA seems like something that we’ll be seeing more of in future projects, and it seems safe to assume that was the plan all along.”
Meanwhile, in a recent tweet, the cast of Loki looked to be having the time of their lives on set.

Well-Earned Connection
There is substance to the characters in Loki — particularly the God of Mischief and Mobius — that is deep.

“The friendship between Mobius and Loki, if you can call it that, is well-earned in that they really sort of put each other through things that are grueling and upsetting,” Wilson told Marvel in June. “They test each other’s patience and faith.
“Through all that, there is sort of a mutual admiration that emerges.”
Finally, the fine folks at Giant Freakin Robot speculated, “Ant-Man 3 comes out in 2023. It’s going to be exploring the quantum realm.
“This would be a good opportunity to also explore more about time travel and the TVA.
“Wouldn’t bringing back Owen Wilson’s familiar character be a strong way to make this accessible and explore that further?”
Yes, yes it would.
