Emilia Clarke Talks Joining The MCU and Marvels Secret Invasion
One of the great actresses in the world, with a resume that includes participation in some of the biggest franchises in the world, comicbook.com spoke to Emilia Clarke on joining the MCU, and Marvel’s anticipated Secret Invasion series.
With major roles in series like Game of Thrones and Star Wars, Clarke is widely respected for her ability to bring truth, authenticity, and immense emotional resonance to bigger budget projects and expansive universes.
The veteran actress is now bringing her talents to the MCU, as Clarke has signed on to join the studio with a major role in their Disney+ exclusive series Secret Invasion.
When speaking on what drew her to the project, Clarke was quick to commend the industry-transforming endeavor that Marvel has embarked upon with their Cinematic Universe, and the heights of success they’ve reached in their pursuit.

Carlos stated, “I just think what they’re doing right now is so exciting and so cool, and so on the cutting edge of it. I feel like they’re like the Apple of this world,”
“To be part of that family feels like, ‘Oh my god, I’m in the cool kid crowd. That’s so cool.’ Honestly speaking, the people that are making this are what pushed me over the line to really wanting to do it.” The actress continued, “I just think that everyone’s heart and heads are in the right place with this one.”
The Marvel comic run, Secret Invasion, is a 2008 series that focused on the Skrull race’s infiltration of humanity; their ability to shapeshift allowing them to hide within pain site.
There is little doubt that Emilia Clarke’s Secret Invasion character will interact greatly with Samuel L Jackson’s Nick Fury and Ben Mendelsohn’s Talos.
The Captain Marvel duo will have their hands full in the series, as a Skrull invasion brilliantly presents a Remarkable dilemma for Earth’s Mightiest; as the question of who to trust becomes almost impossible to answer.
There is no information on who Emilia Clarke will play in the MCU, but one can expect she will bring the same immense talent to Secret Invasion that she’s brought to some of the world’s biggest franchises.
