As Disney puts it, “The name tag will feature “EARidescence,” similar to the shimmering Beacons of Magic you heard about earlier this year.”
As you will notice on the name tag, the logo for the 50th anniversary is prominently displayed in “EARidescence” over the Cast Member’s name. There are also some gold accents and even a touch of pixie dust.

Brett Owens, who is a graphic designer with Disney Live Entertainment, was a proud member of the team tasked with creating the Cast Member name tags for Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary Celebration. He said, “Designing this name tag meant a lot because it allowed me to think of every single person who will be receiving one for the 50th anniversary celebration. Our team really wanted to create a special way to say, ‘Thank you!’ to the cast as well as give them something to have as a reminder they were here for this special time in our history.”
Laurel Slater, Manager of Communications for Walt Disney World Public Affairs, shares why name tags are so special to Cast Members.

“I’ve no doubt that our cast will be excited to get their new name tags since those of us who’ve been around Walt Disney World a while treasure our name tag collections. I remember my first name tag fondly – it was a simple oval with red trim and Mickey standing proudly in his red shorts above my name. Since I was participating in the Disney College Program at that time, my school – University of Iowa – was listed instead of my hometown. As a side note, how exciting is it that the Disney College Program will begin to return later this year?”
Slater went on to say, “Cast Members can look forward to getting their new shimmering name tags this fall, right around the time The World’s Most Magical Celebration kicks into gear. In the meantime, we’ll be dusting off our collections and reliving the memories!”
