Walt Disney World Issues Statement In Response to Florida Governor DeSantis Lifting Local COVID Orders
Earlier today, I reported that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced that he would be suspending all local COVID orders in the state effective immediately including mask and face covering mandates. Per @ScottGustin on Twitter, Walt Disney World has just released a statement regarding this announcement by Governor DeSantis:
Today, Florida announced plans regarding COVID-19 guidelines. Our health and safety measures are the same for now, including face covering requirements.
In addition to making this statement about Florida lifting local COVID orders, the following pop up message has been added to Walt Disney World’s My Disney Experience app:
We are aware of the state of Florida’s plans announced today to modify COVID-19 guidelines. We will evaluate this latest guidance and maintain or current health and safety measures at this time, including face covering requirements. We will continue to make thoughtful adjustments to our policy. As COVID-19 vaccines become available, we encourage people to get vaccinated.

While Governor DeSantis suspended any local emergency orders today that includes mask or face covering mandates, Mayor Demings of Orange County, Florida announced just last week that the County – which is home to the majority of Walt Disney World – will roll back COVID-19 orders in a thee phase process.
As part of that phased process, the mask mandate for the County would not be fully dropped until at least 70% of the county’s residents were vaccinated and the rolling 14-day positivity rate was below 5%.
When contacted today by @LSeabrookWFTV to see his response to the new executive order by Governor DeSantis dropping all local COVID emergency orders, Mayor Demings said that he is still looking over the order and will respond to it later in writing.
The @OrangeCoFL attorney is looking over @GovRonDeSantis‘s new executive order now. @OCFLMayor says he will respond to it in writing. Demings says good outcomes require good communication between state and local and he says that’s not happening. (1/2) https://t.co/veYo5KKj5L

Since Walt Disney World is a private company, they do not have to abide by the orders from Governor DeSantis. However, they recently started rolling back their mask mandate by allowing Guests to take photos at the Parks and Resort mask-free.
When it comes to masks and other COVID protocols, Walt Disney World has been closely following the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and their recommendations. Just last week, the CDC announced that they it was okay for those Americans who have been fully vaccinated to not wear a mask when they are outdoors and in small gatherings.

Disney is still being run from Communist California and listening to Fascist Fauci. They need to wake up and see that we are not going to take this infringement much longer and soon we will revolt knowing you can’t kick us all out. His executive order is only until July 1, at which time it will be illegal for them or any business in Florida to require masks.
