As Talk of Vaccine Passports Grows, Florida Governor Vows to Ban Them from State
The new buzz word of 2021 might “Vaccine Passports.” These “Passports” are essentially a way for United States Citizens to prove that they have been fully vaccinated from COVID-19 for business and travel purposes. Talk around them as grown even more within the past week or so as reports indicate that the Biden Administration along with private companies are already working on developing them.

While many details on Vaccine Passports are still unknown at this time, more information should become available on them this week. The Biden Administration will not make these mandatory. However, many cruise lines as well as foreign countries are currently requiring proof of being fully vaccinated as a requirement to sail with them or enter their borders. Royal Caribbean has said that these will be required on their cruises that will begin to set sail once again this Summer but this will not be a permanent requirement.

Yesterday, the Governor of Florida, Ron DeSantis made comments about how he does not support the rollout of “Vaccine Passports.” He reiterated that Florida’s stance on vaccines is “provide it for all, mandate for none.” He went as far to say that if National “Vaccine Passports” became a requirement, he would file an executive order to ban them from the State of Florida even though there is no plans to make them a national mandate as stated above.

Currently, Walt Disney World does not require proof of vaccination to enter their Resort. There is not plans for Disneyland to do so either. However, the first Disney Cruise Line Ship, the Disney Magic, will begin sailing again this Summer from the United Kingdom and will only allow those who are residents of the United Kingdom and who can show proof that they have been fully vaccinated onboard. (Exceptions are made for those who are under 18 as vaccines are not widely available for them yet.)
