ICYMI: Blizzard Beach Reopens at Walt Disney World
Happy Monday Disney friends! In case your were away from the computer over the weekend, we wanted to share with you the news that one of Disney World’s two water parks, Blizzard Beach has officially reopened to the public!
This wintry watery playground is themed after a melting ski resort! I was so nice to walk through the doors yesterday and to see Mount Gushmore as well as the white sandy beaches!
The reopening marks the return of incredible attractions including Summit Plummet, Teamboat Springs and Cross Country Creek which has the distinction of being one of the country’s longest lazy rivers.
Guests can also once again tuck into delicious eats and treats and sip on tropical beverages at the water park’s incredible eateries including Blizzard Beach’s own full-service beach bar, Polar Pub. The water park now offers NEW plant-based menu options like the plant-based Bratwurst Sandwich.
Mobile ordering is being promoted as way to maintain social distancing by eliminating lines and through contactless payment. You can take advantage of it at popular Blizzard Beach eateries like Lottawata Lodge, AvaLunch and Warming Hut. For those unfamiliar you’ll find the mobile order service in the My Disney Experience app and allows guests to order, pay for and pick up their food when it’s ready.
If you’re planning on visiting Disney World in the weeks or month’s ahead then you’ll definitely want to schedule in a Blizzard Beach visit! It’s fun for the whole family including tiny tos with areas like Tike’s Peak created especially for pre-schoolers. There’s also the Ski Patrol Training Camp which is an awesome playground for older children and tweens!
It should also be noted that Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park is operating in alignment with health and safety measures that have been implemented throughout Walt Disney World Resort. This includes enhanced cleaning, temperature checks and physical distancing. Guests aged 2 and up are also required to wear face coverings when visiting Blizzard Beach. These can be removed while traveling down the water slides.
