Happy Opening Day Blizzard Beach. MickeyBlog was lucky enough to be at Disney’s newly reopened water park this morning to give you a first look at the sights, sounds and of course eats!
It was nice to see the cast members welcoming us to the parks and the many restaurants and snack stops now open throughout the parks! We showed you a lot of the rides this morning which you’ll find here. I also took some time this morning to outline 10 of our favorite things about this Orlando water park which you can find here. And now its all about the FOOD!
Blizzard Beach Arctic Expedition
Though we didn’t stay at Blizzard Beach for lunch, we did have a chance to pop by many of the locations and check out the menus. Our first stop is Blizzard Beach Arctic Express. These is a great place to stop for some of the Water Park’s famous glazed almonds and pecans. You’ll also find craft beers and and specialty alcoholic drinks here including Pina Coladas and my favorite the Frozen Black Cherry Lemonade made with Three Olives Cherry Vodka!
Cooling Hut
Next up is Cooling Hut. This is a great place to visit for Popcorn and souvenir popcorn containers/refills. The spot has also been known to sell Pretzels with cheese, Mickey’s Ice Cream Bars, beer, Angry Orchard Hard Cider as well as Truly Wild Berry Hard Seltzer.
Polar Patios
For those interested in rent Blizzard Beach’s version of Cabana which is called a Polar Patio, they also have a dedicated wait staff and food menus for you to enjoy.
Treats include Chips and Guac, Chicken Strips, Nacho Bar, Sand Pail Ice Cream Buckets and then a series of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks!
Avalunch
This has long been a popular quick service spot at Blizzard Beach! Hot Dogs seem to be the order of the day with Bacon Macaroni & Cheese and Chili-Cheese Frito Dogs now on offer. Loaded Beef Nachos are another savory treat you’ll find here.
This spot also offers kids meals, soft drinks, beer and sangria.
Joffrey’s
Don’t mistake this spot for your usual Joffrey’s coffee kiosk! This kiosk actually serves up Blizzard Beach’s famous mini donuts. These fried doughnuts are served up warm with cinnamon sugar and come with a variety of dipping sauces including Chocolate, Raspberry and Whit Chocolate and can be ordered by the dozen or half dozen.
Funnel Cakes & Cotton Candy
You’ll also find smaller kiosks around the parks that serve up goodies. This one beckoned us over with the delicious smells of funnel cakes being made!
The Warming Hut
Warming hut is a great place to bask in those warm Orlando temperatures while grabbing a quick snack or beverage to tide you over until lunchtime!
The eatery offers a Mobile Ordering pick-up window which means you can have a quick, cashless ordering process which is important during these times of social distancing.
It’s also one of the areas where you can pick up one of Blizzard Beach’s Rapid Fuel Mugs. Basically you pick one up when you arrive and then you can get unlimited soft drinks throughout your visit. (We’ll talk more about these in a minute.)
This spot offers one of the more robust menus you’ll find on property. There’s awesome eats like the Honey Butter Chicken Sandwich and Loaded Tater Tots! Churros, brownie sundaes and waffle cones are also available for those with a sweet tooth. Fans of Dole Whip will also be happy to know that it is served up here!
In addition to soft drinks, you’ll also find beer, wine and sangria here.
Rapid Fill Mugs
As we mentioned above, Rapid Fill Mugs are once again available at select locations at Blizzard Beach. It costs $11.99 to get one which entitles you to one day of unlimited soft drink refills.
If you have one and bring it back for a subsequent Blizzard Beach visit, it will cost $8.99 to reactivate. (Quick Tip: If you take them home with you and plan on using them again at the water park DON’T run them through the dishwasher, the process damages the chip in the mug and it may not be able to be re-activated. )
We love the image on the Rapid Fill mug! One side features Mickey and Minnie enjoying an innertube ride.
On the other side is Goofy & Pluto.
The cost of getting soft drinks can be pretty steep at Blizzard Beach so if you are planning on staying for the day, we definitely recommending going the Rapid Fill route!
Lattawatta Lodge
Lattawatta Lodge is another go-to spot for quick service dining. We reckon that it will be even more popular during this times of social distancing due to its large outdoor seating area.
This quick service spot also has a pretty extensive menu which you can see below. You’ll find cheeseburgers, salads, chicken nuggets and flatbreads on the menu.
This spot also offers some plant-based options like the veggie Bratwurst Sandwich as well as the Impossible Burger. You’ll also find soft drinks, beers, sangria and a couple of the parks more popular cocktails. Also, as you can see in the picture above, plexiglass dividers have been set up to ensure health and safety requirements are being met during the pandemic.
Also, for those planning a visit to Blizzard Beach in the weeks or months ahead, we here at MickeyBlog recommend that you utilize My Disney Experience app as much as possible. Using your phone to order your food in advance using the Mobile Ordering function is now more beneficial then ever. It allows guests to have a cashless transaction and means no waiting in line. You simply let the restaurant know when you’re ready to pick up your food and head to the pick-up window where it will be waiting for you!
