Rivers of America Gets Its Water Back
The waterfront from Liberty Square to Frontierland is once again looking like the mighty Mississippi!
If you’ve been following along with us here at MickeyBlog then you’ll know that just last week the entire Rivers of America was drained- a project that started last October routine maintenance.
Visitors to Magic Kingdom over the last few months were greeted with the sight of an empty riverbed and an exposed track for the Liberty Belle.
However, she’s now getting back to her original splendor! It does look like the river is slowly being refilled. The waterline is still a bit low.
Looking over toward Tom Sawyer Island, Harper’s Mill is looking lovely with a vibrant new paint job!
The River once again adds to the character of the area surrounding Splash Mountain!
And here’s a stunning look at Tom Sawyer Island on your left and the Haunted Mansion looming ominously to your right!
Though Disney didn’t sight specific reasons for the draining of the River, they had said that they expected work to be completed in February 2021.
This means that they appear to be a bit ahead of schedule.
As of going to print there is no word yet on when we might expect attractions liked Tom Sawyer Island and Liberty Belle to be back up and running. With social distancing requirements it may be a while.
This is a story that we’ll continue to follow closely here at MickeyBlog and we promise to keep you posted!
