Ride Spacing Decreased on Some Walt Disney World Attractions
Is Disney World easing up on their social distancing requirements at the theme parks? According to a recent piece in People, the answer is yes. According to the piece, Disney World is slowly revising its loading protocols for several headlining attractions specifically when it comes to eliminating empty rows of seats between guests.
Evidence for this? Over the past few weeks many visitors to Walt Disney World have been posting from queues for rides like Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, Expedition Everest and Slinky Dog Dash where its being noted that cast members are no longer leaving every-other-row on ride cars empty which was part of the parks’ original healthy and safety protocols that were implemented when the theme parks opened in July.

According to People a spokesperson from Disney confirmed to the magazine that these restrictions are being eased. With the three coasters mentioned above, Disney advised that its possible to relax restrictions given that each of the rides feature higher backs which create a physical barrier between guests the Disney spokesperson told Twitter. Disney added that the decision was made in consultation with local health officials.

The Disney spokesperson told PEOPLE that “this is not an official new phase of reopening, but rather an ongoing evolution of park practices.”
It should be clear that Disney World aren’t the only theme parks where we are seeing these changes. Universal Orlando has begun filled every row on attractions like Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit and The Hulk.

It should be noted that visitors to the theme parks ARE still required to wear face masks throughout their time in the parks except when eating or taking a break in one of the designated relaxation zones. Temperature checks are also required upon entry to each of the parks.
