10 Must Try Menu Items From This Year’s Festival of the Holidays
If you were following along with MickeyBlog this past weekend then you’ll know that we were there on opening day of the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays which made its debut on November 27th. This year’s fest is an absolute delight of seasonal merchandise, entertainment and of course food!
As a matter of fact, with so many Holiday Kitchens around the World Showcase brimming with delicious goodies, picking out treats to try can be a daunting task! That’s why we here at MickeyBlog thought we’d share 10 of our favorites with you. Let’s dive in:
Twinings® Christmas Tea Toddy- English Garden (Behind The Tea Caddy)
We’ll get you started with a bit of an aperitif! Nothing beats walking around in those cooler Orlando evening temperatures with a warm tea, coffee or cocoa in hand! English Garden is a great place to start! We recommend you order up the Twinings Christmas Tea Toddy which is served with a shot of Drambuie and a Cinnamon Stick!
Maple Bûche de Noël- Yukon Holiday Kitchen
This is a positively next level Yule Log that you can find at the Yukon Holiday Kitchen at the Canadian Pavilion. This treat is made of GIngerbread Chiffon Cake rolled with Maple Mousse and Cranberry for an unforgettable holiday treat.
Chirashi Sushi Tree- Shi Wasu Holiday Kitchen
Head over to the Japan Pavilion for a chance to sample this festive sushi treat! It features Sashimi-grade Tuna, Salmon, Ikura and Yellowtail with Vegetables decorated on a bed of Rice ! It’s almost too beautiful to eat!
Sfenj – Sapphire Holiday Kitchen
Visit the Morocco Pavilion to try these delicious warm beignets served with cream, cinnamon-sugar and chocolate sauce.
Turkey Poutine Fries – Refreshment Port (Showcase Plaza)
If you love a good Canadian-style Poutine then you’ll definitely want to stop by Refreshment Port for this delicious treat. It features french fries, turkey, gravy, cheese curds, cranberry relish and crispy onions! Yum!
Charcuterie – Prost! (World Showplace)
You’ll definitely want to make the World Showplace one of your first Festival of the Holidays spots. At this indoor pavilion you’ll find entertainment, merchandise, a gingerbread recreation of the US Capitol and some delicious eats! One of the things I love to get at EPCOT festivals is a really nice charcuterie and the one being served up by Prost! does not disappoint! You’ll find it piled high with delicious meats and cheese and you can wash it down with one of the many German beers or ciders on offer.
Warm Brown Sugar-stuffed Pretzel- Refreshment Outpost
If you’re a fan of Disney’s delicious stuffed pretzels then you’ll love this! This delightful and warm pretzel is stuffed with brown sugar and served with a scoop of ice cream and chocolate sauce. It’s wonderful!
Coquito – Festival Favorites
It wouldn’t be the holidays without eggnog and this boozy treat is delightful being served up at Festival Favorites in World Showplace is a holiday delight! This boozy drink has a tropical twist and can be ordered up with or without Bacardi Gold Dark Rum!.
Sweet Potato Casserole Funnel Cake- Funnel Cake
The Funnel Cake stand located at the American Adventure has a couple of holiday treats on the menu. Our favorite has to be the Sweet Potato Casserole Funnel Cake. It has that warm and comforting sweet potato taste and comes with marshmallow topping, caramel and walnuts!
Cheese Fondue Bread Bowl – Bavaria Holiday Kitchen
Nothing says comfort food like this savory treat. You get a warm bread bowl filled with a rich and creamy cheese fondue and served with steamed baby vegetables and marble potatoes. It will definitely give you that warm fuzzy feeling!
