What Is The Spookiest Planet In Star Wars?
Mustafar has made its way into only three films, but is it the spookiest planet in the Star Wars galaxy?
Firstly, you saw it in Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. The planet Mustafar was a central location in the life of Darth Vader, and a Sith Stronghold. And now, at end of the Skywalker Saga, we see just how important this spooky planet was to Vader.
Moreover, if you’ve played Vader Immortal, you know just how many details you missed if you just saw the glimpses of the planet in the movies.
More On Mustafar
StarWars.com’s magnificent Kelly Knox explained, giving us “5 Things You Might Not Know About Mustafar.”
From ancient Force secrets to its hidden native inhabitants, to a certain Dark Lord of the Sith, the lava planet has a long history waiting to be discovered. With Halloween season upon us, this seemed the perfect time to investigate one of the galaxy’s most haunting locales.
And here is my favorite of the five things:
5. Cult colonists called the Alazmec protect the forest of Corvax Fen and the memory of Darth Vader.
The bog of ash and ironwood trees where Kylo Ren unleashes his fury in The Rise of Skywalker is known as Corvax Fen — yes, that Corvax. The bog is said to be soaked in Lady Corvax’s tears. One sect, the Alazmec of Winsit, stands in Ren’s way; they’ve sworn to protect the ruins of Vader’s castle and the ground near it. Kylo Ren strikes them down without mercy.
Who exactly is Corvax?
Long before the rise of the Galactic Empire, Lady Corvax and her husband resided on Mustafar, which was then a lush planet thriving with life, and the two spouses lived in harmony with the natives. One fateful day, however, Mustafar came under attack, and Lady Corvax’s husband fell in battle, sword in hand. Struck with grief, the woman stole the most sacred artifact of the Mustafarians, the Bright Star crystal, to power her Aeon Engine, which she hoped could resurrect her love.
That attempt, however, utterly failed. Not only was Lady Corvax’s husband cursed to be trapped between the real world and what came after; the powerful energies that burst from the Bright Star transformed the beautiful planet of Mustafar into a hellscape. Following the incident, Lady Corvax kept the artifact hidden in her sanctum, whose key could only be used by one of her descendants. She hoped that one day, a future descendant would be able to recover the Bright Star, bring it back to the Mustafarians, and perhaps repair some of the damage she had done.
Finally, there is much more to learn. And be sure to read Knox’s full post.
