Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party Cancelled for 2020
Following the lead of Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, Walt Disney World has just confirmed that Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party has also been cancelled for 2020.
But, the cancellation of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party doesn’t mean there will be no holiday magic at the Magic Kingdom and Walt Disney World for 2020! New, creative experiences are being added to ensure that spirit of the holidays lives on while keeping all Cast Members and Guests safe and healthy.

Replacing the iconic Castle Dream lights this year at the Magic Kingdom will be a special projection show that will give an extra-festive look to Cinderella Castle. The new projections will offer the most magical and colorful background for photos while featuring a rotating series of designs including a whimsical Christmas sweater and a regal overlay of red, green, and gold ornamentation.
In addition to the holiday-themed projection show, Guests at the Magic Kingdom will be treated to character cavalcades starring your favorite Christmas “friends” on decorated floats in their holiday finest. “Friends” include gingerbread men, elves, reindeer, and Toy Soldiers! The Main Street Philharmonic will also be joining as the march around the Magic Kingdom to bring festive cheer to all!

And, even though Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is cancelled for 2020, the Magic Kingdom will still be decorated with those iconic Christmas decorations! Those decorations go up beginning November 6 and will be up until December 30, 2020. In addition to decor and special entertainment, themed merchandise and seasonal food and beverages options will also be offered.
The Magic Kingdom isn’t the only place for holiday happenings this 2020 holiday season. EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom are also introducing some socially-distanced holiday cheer!
